The challenge of poor mental health and wellbeing at working was costing industry more than £35 billion in 2017 (according the Stevenson/Farmer report). Since then the impact and scale of poor mental health has increased dramatically, adding a hit to the UK economy well in excess of a £100 billion a year, and a significant human impact. It's a complex problem but the impact leaders and managers can have (both positive and negative) is clear. We believe more can be done to prevent problems before they start, but this needs to be driven from the front.
